Barclays Financial Sponsors Group
Anyone with insight on the exit opps, culture, and overall strength of FSG at Barclays? How does it compare to other coverage groups at the firm and other FSG groups on the street?

i've heard they don't do that much modeling and technical work often and that it's more like relationship work because many barclays group do M&A in house within their groups and don't always rely on sponsors that being said like its still like a great group and as above said hard to get in because like not many spots
Interesting, I've heard they're one of the few FSG groups that actually do their own modeling. I figured most of the sponsor deals were handled by FSG solo.
ya like this is like what I thought also!! but my friends dad is an MD in a top group there and he was basically like shi**ing on sponsors because he didn't feel like they did much for their group and like they're mainly "relationship managers"
This is 100% wrong. The FSG team built the LBO template and literally models on every single deal they do because it’s a LBO.
Some other firms have FSG teams that don’t model and LF does modeling, but this definitely not the case at Barclays.
