Barclays (London) severance package

Let’s say that I worked at Barclays in London in IB for 3 years, and then I get fired

Does anyone know what would be the severance package? I understand that it’s 1 month per year worked at Barclays, is that correct? Also the money is tax free?

Based on previous WSO threads, the severance package at Barclays for someone who has worked for 3 years would be:

  • 3 months of base salary (1 month for each year worked).

However, there is no mention in the knowledge base about the severance money being tax-free. Typically, severance payments are subject to tax, but you should consult with a tax advisor or HR for specific details regarding tax implications.
