Hey, I am an incoming analyst and have to choose a group at UBS London. What are the best groups in terms of deal flow, culture, work-life balance, and exit opportunities? I am currently thinking of choosing M&A, FIG, TMT, or Consumer. My plan is to move to NY after working in London for a few years.
Any advice would be extremely helpful.

Same outside of Wealth Management what does UBS specialize in as a firm? Is it different across different offices?
In London probably FIG and TMT. UK and Consumer also seem to be quite good.
They recently lost their Head of TMT though...

I'd swap consumer for M&A team. Great people and leadership, did a very good 2019 and had a good start in 2020. You actually learn stuff in that team
Heard consumer has good deal flow. Also culture is good but hours are rather long
Consumer team has many things, included good people. But good dealflow is not one of them.
FIG, TMT for deal flow
TMT first yes, FIG not as much as before but remains a top team
