Best IBD team in Nomura London?

Is there any team that is significantly better than the others, or that you would suggest (for any reason) over the others?

An old post here on WSO suggested Natural Resources, but apparently (word of mouth) that might not be true anymore.

Culture in Nomura's London IBD is effectively legacy Lehman. Although they've lost some prominent ex-Lehman bankers (I.e most recently christian Meissner and Adrian Mee), several Lehman banking teams are still in place and are doing quite well. For example, Nomura advised International Power on their acquisition of GDF Suez and KKR on a couple of major buys in the UK.

Deal flow isn't as strong as the major BB's, but Nomura is a pretty good place to be. They're still in integration/build mode, and it should be interesting to see them 3-5 years down the road.

I mostly know about S&T at Nomura but I have friends both in US and UK IBD at Nomura and they seem to love it, even more so in Europe due to the size and established advantage (not as much deal flow as BBs but much higher in Europe due to the Lehman people they have, whereas in the US its organic growth and still in huge hiring mode, will be a year or two before they are fully up and running).

Good luck on the process, they have perhaps the most growth potential if their hold in the US takes form, but if it doesnt pan out as well as they say it will then the bank globally will have troubles down the road due to the stagnant Japanese business. Hopefully the success of US Nomura units can aid the bank overall and Europe should benefit as well.
