Big 4 Tax Consulting to IB?
I have an offer for a Big 4 Tax Consulting summer internship in 2021 but want to go into IB, and my chances aren't looking that good. So now I have three options:
1 Do the Big 4 consulting internship and another PE/IB/VC summer internship at a boutique, then apply for FT IB roles.
2 Pursue a master's degree at a target (I'm already at one for undergrad) and re-apply for summer internships next year (I got feedback from BB and EB interviews and know what I'm doing wrong).
3 Take the Big 4 offer, convert it to a FT role, move to the valuation team, and lateral into IB (I need visa sponsorship if that helps).
Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Try to network with people in your B4 firm’s CF/IB arm. I have seen a small handful of others make a similar internal move from an accounting role to these groups.
