Breaking Into IB As Lateral From S & T Role

Hey everyone, I'm wrapping my first year as an analyst in s & t at a top BB. Had an IB as well as a small PE internship back in undergrad and on paper have good stats from a top school. Wanted to try this job out and its been a year and I learned a lot but I feel like I want to move to deal based work instead of markets. I have my technicals and modeling down after prepping the last few months on the side so feel comfortable for interviews.

Wanted to try moving internally at first but looks like no spots open in any groups at the moment at my bank. Does anyone have advice for how to pitch my experience in my current sales role to try and lateral / restart as a first year at another bank? Is it even worth trying / possible or am I wasting my time trying to restart my career by going to IB at this point?
