Can an analyst refer someone for an internship?
I had a conversation with an analyst at a BB in Europe (not UK) and he was saying he could give a recommendation for me if I'd like, but he stressed I have to do well in interviews, practice questions in 2 languages as required by the office etc.
I had in mind that referrals aren't actually allowed in Europe, moreso if it's from an analyst. Is he bluffing? Obvs I agreed but I'm not sure how serious he is.

Just fyi I know for a fact that they're not allowed in the UK. I was just not sure if it's the same here
I don't know about that, I got through to an AC via an ED's referral at JPM.
Referrals in Europe normally you put in the application form online, then said bank will contact that person and you'll have a higher chance of getting through the online application.
Also he may get a little bonus if you get through to the offer.
The referral will just get you the interview/AC.
But can a 2nd year analyst do it?
