Can any top bucket analyst/associate survive MF PE?
I was a top ranked A/A last year at a top bulge bracket (very good group). I've been reached out to by a couple headhunters but don't want to be one of those guys who leaves, gets obliterated by PE and then is forced to settle for a shit job because the bank has replaced you.
If I am a top A/A, is the work in MF PE so much more difficult that its not guaranteed whether I can survive there?
Nothing is "guaranteed". I have known incredibly good Analysts that have bombed at PE because they never were able to make the jump from processor of data to thought partner. How well you're able to do that is like 90% of whether or not you will be successful in PE, MF or otherwise, and that's really up to the person.
