Canadian IB in the UK?

Incoming FT at in Toronto for a Canadian bank with a London UK office (think TD/BMO/CIBC, not RBC).

How do these banks compare to other MM / boutiques in london? Are they seen as strong banks given their global presence, or just as their league table ranking within the UK?

Would I have better luck transferring internally to London office, or applying directly while working in Toronto if I want a long term career in the UK? And finally would my experience in Toronto (head office, top group/deal flow in canada) carry weight when lateraling?

Sorry if it's all over the place, I've heard some of the stereotypes of isolationism in the london finance scene, and want to know how to best prepare.

Always been a dream to live / settle down in the UK (parents lived/worked there in 80s/90s, and as a Canadian always felt like a second home in Europe). I have a work visa I can renew easily, attended a target school in canada (ivey/rotman/smith), and can speak 2 languages (English + Mother tongue) fluently, and in the process of reaching conversational/business Spanish/French.

Any advice would be appreciated! Although idk how you guys feel about gaining a Tottenham fan if I come over 😂
