Case studies in banking interviews?
I know IB doesn't have actual case studies like consulting interviews, but I was wondering to what extent will we be asked case study type questions? For instance, having to walk an interviewer through a analysis of a company and suggest possible buyers, targets, valuation multiples, competitors etc.
Are there any tried and tested strategies to answering these types of questions? Like just really studying one or two companies random public companies and just being ready for any questions about them?
Yeah I think you're generally right, just study a company or two and be ready to answer common questions like what competitors are in the space, what multiples they generally trade at, and also trends in the industry. would also study how ai is impacting the business especially if you picked a tech company.
Generally you wont really see these types of questions in first rounds. more likely to be seen in superdays.
