Centerview London

Was wondering what their reputation is like in London. I've read that they rely on the US for dealflow, but they closed some pretty big deals over the past few years (Astrazeneca and Alexion $39bn) and poached some top bankers from UBS. Everyone seems extremely intelligent and overall really nice people. But from conversations with people in London, everyone discourages going there unless you're going to be a career banker.

Even though the analyst program is 3 years, if you wanted to exit would you still have good opportunities in PE/HF? I know the US program is great in this regard, but wondering why London lacks. I feel like the learning experience is second to none and while exits have been underwhelming, I feel like it's more because of self selection. If one were to want to exit to PE or a HF, would the option still be there?

Just wondering what everyone's impression of them is in London specifically.

The option is always there to exit, as long as it’s not before 3 years. You’ll get looks from anyone. Only reason exits lack is because of self-selection as you said.

Intern at CVP, though not in London. Just going off of what I’ve heard from others. I cannot speak to other EBs but at least for CVP you should be able to get great looks if you want them, even in London.
