Compass Point: Any reviews / anecdotes? Is it FBR's successor firm?

So I'm a DC-area native, currently doing Financial Services IB coverage in NYC for a large MM firm (Blair/Baird/Piper). I just got the Associate promote, which hopefully gives me salary negotiating power in my next endeavor, but wish to move back home to DC with my fiance and have begun networking with some of the firms there. Sadly my current bank will never let me work remote or even hybrid.

Anyways, wanted to see if anyone has any intel on Compass Point, located in Georgetown? From my understanding it's ran by a collection of the old FBR guys / the Billings family. It seems like their bread and butter is 144A raises in the $100-$300M range for financial services clients, which makes sense given the FBR association (large 144A practice). Should be almost a direct overlap with what I do now.

Does anybody have any other helpful info about these guys? Size of team, comp, WLB, strengths, weaknesses, general perception in the market, etc.?
