CS IBD SA Offer - Advice Please!
Hello,
So I recently got an offer for a SA gig at CS in London. I really like the firm and I'm planning on accepting the offer.
My question is what do I do now that I'm deep in the interview process with a number of other banks. I have final rounds with 3 banks next week and I'm waiting to hear back from another 3 banks following 1st rounds this week.
What would you advise someone in my shoes to do? Do I go along to these interviews with the knowledge that I won't be accepting an offer if I get it, or do I email/call HR and explain I have an offer I want to take at another firm and withdraw from the process. I don't want to burn any bridges or create a negative impression with other firms and that's why I'm slightly reluctant to withdraw - I don't want it to seem that I'm not at all interested in them which isn't actually the case...
Thank you!
If you are committed to CS (i.e., you will take them over any other potential offer you may get) then you need to call the other banks and explain the situation to them. This is the only appropriate thing to do. It's the right way to treat the bank, and, more importantly, it's the right thing to do for other candidates who may get your interview spot.
