Current State of Blair/Baird?

How have WB/Baird been recovering since Covid and are they still top MM? I heard both laid off people during lockdown, probably more serve at Baird.

Lastly, do I address them as MM bank or people would get uncomfortable with it? Seems like they work on some similar-size deals as Jefferies/RBC/UBS from time to time. It'd be nice to hear from insiders.

Sponsor activity is back and probably more active in the last two quarters than ever. Both Blair and Baird are in fine shape, with less fat and I’d say nothing to worry about now.

They dominate the middle market; however, the notion that either of those firms are anything but Middle Market is ridiculous.

Middle market is just the environment on which they focus. Despite the stigma people on this forum have given it - it is neither a good thing nor a bad thing, just a different business model.
