why're you looking to make the switch? i'm actually switching the other way from IBD to S&T.
How did you make the switch? I have an Associate offer for 2007 at a BB and I am myself thinking of S&T as an option. I think S&T provides a better work/life balance. Granted the work is very hectic/high pressure but it ends around 7:00 PM and there is hardly any work on weekends. IB is more like a marathon. I would appreciate it if you could share your experience and provide information on how you made the switch from IB to S&T.
I'm not looking to switch from S&T to IB, I'm looking to switch banks in case I don't get placed on a good desk next year. Someone I know in S&T was formerly an IB intern, but I'm sure it's easier to apply as part of the class than your case. When people consider to switch from IB to S&T, do pretige and emotional factors come into play?
Clarify this, b/c i don't see your point? You think banking is more 'presitigious' than sales/trading?
no, i don't think banking is better than s&t, but i respect it a whole lot.
You could likely go lateral somewhere into the same role, but it gets easier after say year 2 or 3.
i still don't understand your question
