DB V Greenhill LDN Office?
Got SA offers from both. Was pretty set on DB, until I heard that Greenhill paid their A1s 115K from a mutual friend who interned there? Can anyone verify this claim and which one is better for breaking into UMM PE and SS HF respectively?
Is there no way for you to do both?? I know GHL is quite flexible when it comes to date for internships.
DB has quite a few solid teams, GHL lands here and there a large cap deal and in between does some crappy deals but has decent exits - very oxbridge as well.
What are the solid teams at DB at the moment? Lev Fin, Industrials?

That's right:

Just FYI the 115k you get at greenhill would not be that much higher than the ~90k or so you would get at a place like DB considering the effective 75% marginal tax rate within that income bracket.
How on Earth did you arrive at that Marginal Tax Rate?
I misremembered, the actual rate is ~62% after national insurance. The reason is that you lose your tax free allowance for your marginal income beyond £100k.
Agree on the above.
DB is a solid shop but you need to get into the right group.
GHL definitely has better culture (in LDN) but the name might not be as strong.
Strongly doubt the £115k A1 total comp figure is accurate. I think £90-100k is a more sensible range
