Hi,

I actually had this same issue a while back and asked the distinction between the 6 month non-compete clause and the more typical 3 month notice period.

They're different. The former, which you're worried about, means that if you leave your boutique IB and, say, go to work at GS, you can't "induce your clients to follow you" from your boutique IB for 6 months. The notice period is separate and your boutique can't prevent you being employed elsewhere.

So it actually has a 3 month notice period and then also explicitly states for 6 months after termination Not be employed by competition. My concern is this means another employer would need to wait 9 months to hire me and no one is going to do that..
