Did not convert summer
Didn’t convert IBD summer at BB which has come as a surprise to me. Feedback was positive throughout summer, conversion for my team was super low in general.
Know some incompetent interns getting returns which has further demotivated me as it has been political as well. The return offer would’ve changed my life trajectory as I come from a low income background.
just can’t seem to get over this news and there is no motivation to apply to anything as I am still processing. There were no red flags in my performance so felt like gave my all for nothing.

Had a similar experience sophomore summer (I already had junior year IB SA secured, so it did not matter if I got the return). I thought I was doing fairly well, all my work product was great but I always felt a disconnection from the team, which I overlooked. Since I was at a boutique, my team was more open towards the end of my internship. At the end of the day it came down to the way that others perceived me - they thought I was pretty cocky. To be fair, I thought I was the smartest guy in the world. Frankly, little things like this can make or break your summer. I also had people in my summer intern class that I did not think deserved the return offer, but they were really nice and great to work with late at night. You could have made one comment that made people think of you a certain way - always make sure that you are aware of your actions, no matter how small. Always be slightly more professional than the person you are speaking to, and try not to think of them as a friend at first until you get to truly know them. Keep your head up, and continue grinding.
Yeah I get this but in my feedback it was said attitude, proactivity was good and was a good cultural fit …
