Distressed Investing

I am in late stages for a position at a MF focused on distressed investing. Having done M&A for the last few years, I'm a little worried that switching to a distressed/stressed role may limit potential career opportunities in the future. Also in late stages at an RX boutique which I feel may not be as limiting for future opps. Any advice on what to do in this scenario?
