Do any major banks or buy side funds require blazers and ties?
Had this intern that would wear a full suit and tie every single day. I thought it was out of place today, but overall he was a smart guy and it was whatever.
I was just wondering if there were any major places in banking or buy side (or really any major business) that still expected employees to wear a jacket and tie when in the office (so excluding things like lawyers in court). I’d be surprised if places like this are still around but am curious if anyone knew
Not where I work at but tbh props to any junior that does it I wouldn't knock it if that is their style
Usually jacket and tie is safe for maybe the first half of a week for the interns. After that, just a jacket/blazer is usually enough. I wouldn’t see it as a red flag — the intern probably just wants to show their 110% and impress you
Veritas is suit and tie, 5 days in-person
If you have a problem with a suit and a tie, then you are the problem.
Brookfield is tie and white shirt all week in office, no headphones. On Friday you can lose the tie.
No headphones is criminal
Blazer and tie? What is this, prep school? It’s suit and tie, not blazer and tie.
OP doesn't know what a blazer is and is complaining about an intern wearing a suit.
