Does banks support internal transfer from one geography to another? EMEA to USA?

Hello everyone --

Is the internal transfer common amongst the global IBs? (given that the reason is genuine and personal) For eg: if we need to move to the US office from London

This has been asked a bunch of times. Short answer, yes. Long(er) answer, is it depends on how long you have been at the firm and how well you perform. It is (in my experience) usually done after a few years and by those who tend to be high achievers with an ambition to move to the US for a reasonable length of time. Some banks also do 6-month secondments.
