First-Time Poster – Advice for IB in Europe After Graduation?
Hi everyone,
Long-time reader, first-time poster here.
I'm graduating this summer with a BBA from a semi-target university in Europe and a 3.5 GPA. So far, I’ve completed a VC internship and have secured a 4 month MM PE internship starting in September (post-graduation). I'm really aiming to break into IB but I’m a bit lost on what my next steps should be.
Would it make sense for me to apply for Summer Analyst roles for 2026? I’ll already have my bachelor’s degree by then. If I do apply, my plan would be to say I’m intending to start a Master’s program in September 2026—but I haven’t locked anything in yet, and I’m unsure if that ambiguity would get me screened out.
So here are my main questions:
Do I realistically have a shot at applying for 2026 Summer Analyst roles?
Would banks be okay with someone who’s already graduated but intending to return to school?
If not, what other strategies or options do I have at this point to break into IB?
Thanks in advance!
