Getting a dog as an Investment Banker London

I started mid 2021. Somehow survived all this time, but for a while now considering getting a dog. I have some experience and know the expectations in costs, property etc... But my only concern is time. Now that everyone is back to office, is it viable to get a dog as a single 20 year old in London?

Last thing i want is as I walk home, my dog is more depressed than I am and starts hanging off the balcony. Is it more viable when you have a partner or later in life?

For anyone else here with a dog how do you make it work?

Edit: I thought about it again for 5 mins after writing this and I conclude I just need a GF... man... Note to self. There is this girl, she's super cute, she always reaches out on IG to catch up and we even went on late night walks a while back. But can't help but think she only sees me as a friend/ career buddies or want to add me to a list of simps.

Double edit: Are pets just relationships to fill the void that human/friends relationships can't fill? (rhetorical food for thought). Thus would that mean that people with pets are inherently more lonely than those with no pets... due to multiple factors that the pet may take up more time and emotional energy that could of otherwise be used to meet friends or parties or work, which is somewhat mitigated by the people you would meet through pet ownership. Questioning life now... Maybe I should just get a fish tank.
