Getting back into IB from Corp Dev
Hey Guys,
I started my career in IB after university at an EU BB and got laid off approximately 18 months after. It took me about 18 months to find a job, during those 18 months I returned to my core degree, think Engineering/Medicine to get my full licence to practice – I am definitely sure I do not want a career there.
Currently working as corp dev analyst at a FTSE20 adjacent to my previous IB coverage. The job and the team are cool, hours are better, but I do not like the pay progression and planning a return to IB.
1- Was wondering whether this would be possible?
2-How long should I wait before trying to exit?
3-What kind of firms would be the most receptive to my profile?
4- Level to target in terms of analyst, senior analyst etc…
5- Would PE remain an option if I get back

Don't have much insightful feedback, but gl to you bro. Similar story here - was a 2nd year analyst and left before 3rd promo. Been in corp dev for over 2 years now and want to move back. Been networking with a bunch of bankers and trying to get in to processes.
Just curious why do you want to move back?
