Getting IBD interviews but not consulting...

I've gone through the application cycle applying to both. I have done both consulting and IBD M&A internships.

I had made good hits on IB interviews and struck several interviews / ACs / SDs.

Consulting Associate role applications (i.e. post-graduation), however, 0 interviews.

I am confused... is there something I am missing here? I used to think that consulting interviews would be easier to get provided I have internships in both fields.

For context, my M&A internship at MM is more recent than my consulting internship.

I ask also because I know people who have had 0 internships or just done e.g. a back office role in an industrial firm and suddenly landed McKinsey / Bain / BCG interviews

Very confused (but not complaining... genuinely curious).
