Got an MD as a Mentor

Hi all, I've been recently admitted to a well-known mentorship program in the EU and paired with an MD at an IB boutique in Benelux. For context: I'll be joining a 2-year European target MSc in the Fall, have some regular ECs, some brief Industrials, and commercial banking internships.

I plan to break into an IB boutique first and then gunning for an MM firm.

How should I go about leveraging this new connection? I know some people who got paired with Partners at MBBs and got nothing out of it so I don't know what expectations to set.
