GS LDN structured finance group

Anyone got any insights on this group at Goldman? Very little can be found online except they’re in the financing side of IBD. Looks like what they do is more asset backed project finance stuff? Are they split by regions or sectors? Any insights on culture etc. would be helpful.

Thanks.

I've always wondered, is structured finance a bona fide product group in IBD?

And how does it's PE exit opps compare to coverage groups

Generally significantly worse exits. One of the best exits from structured finance is lateraling internally to a coverage group to have an opportunity to exit elsewhere. Of course, there are always exceptions.

Securitization too and bespoke stuff like future cash flows/ royalties financing. Check the BBG article about the MD who lateraled from that group to a high profile job with Joe Biden (Srujan Linga)
