Signed GSAM/MSIM alt investing role for 2025 SA and wanted to keep options open in terms of FT recruiting for IB/PE. Have heard alot of conflicting information and wanted to get a clearer picture as I start networking for ft 2026. How would this role be viewed against more traditional banking candidates?

It depends on what specific group you’re in / what the job is for both. I was at GSAM/MSIM and made the jump to banking. Definitely not easy but not impossible. Just depends what specifically you’re doing.
