Help with UK Summer week/Summer Analyst recruiting

Im an incoming freshman (or first year, whatever you want to call it) at Oxford studying PPE after this summer. Rn im confused abt summer week -> summer analyst. Once I complete summer week at a bank, do I get a return offer for the coming summer or the summer next year (that is if i get an offer). Also can I put them on my resume/linkedin and how do recruiters in the US view them. Thanks

You apply to Spring Weeks in Year 1 (All BBs+Most EBs and Tier 2 banks do them along with Big 4 and a few others). These are held in the Easter Break of Year 1 (Can be anywhere from 3 days to 2 weeks; most are 1 week), usually in April. Most have a formal conversion process on the last day, which if you get through will mean you have an internship with them the summer after your 2nd year (eg: A spring week in 2019 leads to a summer internship for 2020).

You most definitely can and should put them on your resume and linkedin since in most cases this is the main tangible IB experience you will have before applying for SA roles (granted you do not actually do any real work on most Springs, but you get the brand name on your CV).

As for US, it will be very hard to recruit there given you are attending a UK school (and next to impossible if you are not a US citizen) so not really sure the impact these have over in the US.

These are not that helpful in the US as we don't have them, but should still be on your resume for the brand name and you can explain later. In the US there are just spring "insight days" which are 1 day presentations by HR

Seconding comment above. It seems like you're from the US, if you are a citizen then you need to be paying attention to US recruiting and networking from day 1 because all of the recruiting at Oxford will be for London roles
