Word on the grapevine some pretty big layoffs across EMEA HL offices. Only heard re M&A teams, any details?

Not surprised. They laid off a bunch of first years back in 2020. HL RX is well regarded and gets treated as such but the MM M&A Corp Fin side of the firm lacks talent and gets treated like an illigitimate child. Best of luck to those who were affected. You'll make it through.
In the US or overseas?
Tbf with how low salaries are in HL RX compared to peers (PJT/PWP..) I wouldn’t say they are regarded that well internally

Idk about the overseas pay, but all-in is 200k+ for juniors in the U.S. The spread is +-15-20k relative to peers PLUS the fattest meal stipend I have ever seen.

Heard 4 cut from Houston energy team
Tech, Consumer and Business Services were main ones I heard. 5 from business services in London got fired but hardly surprising as apparently brought in no revenue. Other Europe offices also hit

Across the board or top brass? Team only has 3 MDs, one a recent hire from RBC...
Analysts across the board being cut in LDN, surprising given their growth in the LMM/MM, solely doing almost all sponsor sell-sides....
Heard they are cutting the LA tech team? Not sure if anyone has additional detail there
