How can I learn modelling more efficiently - currently fucking it up

Hey guys just wanted some advice on how I can improve my learning process. Currently going through modules on BIWS for my 2025 summer internship in IB at a BB and I have been so far just watching videos, taking notes and taking a stab at the excel files

What I am noticing so far is that I can reproduce the models (for example 3SM) if I am watching the video step by step, but when I try to fill in the templates with no help I struggle to do it. I am not completely lost, as I can open up the solved spreadsheet and try to compare, but often I run into issues where my balance sheet is not balancing even though I can see that all my formulas are identical.

Is there a process I can use to be more efficient in learning/modelling. I am also trying to audit the sheets manually and its getting very difficult to keep track and see if I am doing it correctly. Would appreciate any advice
