Apply direct. Most London HHs are lazy bums who won’t give you time of day if you’re at an MM, even if you have top tier academics, and will only show you other MM ops. Of course the same HHs who wouldn’t even acknowledge your messages when you were trying to move out of MM will be pounding your phone line as soon as you land that top BB/EB role (speaking from experience).
The above is absolutely true. I’d recommend specifically finding who in their HR team deals with laterals and reaching out.
