How to manage time during internship? (I am quite desperate)

Sooooo,I am 3 weeks into my internship in Corporate Banking at an BB in London. Last week it was the first week into the office and I don't understand how we are supposed to do any work.Last week it was the first week in the office and we were given maybe 15 things each to do over the summer (most of them in a team). Last week we had meetings for most of 8 hours/day discussing these tasks, this week it's very similar and during the 30min- 1 hours between meetings(if I have them) I cannot get much done because other interns are asking me what we should do. After this all but two interns leave at 5pm. The two left are me and another intern and we actually try to do some work. This pace/arrangement seems super unsustainable to the point where not even the MDs stay until the hours us two interns stay. We do the work that we need to do relatively quickly, but we can't work during the day because of the meetings and the other interns always interrupting. What is the solution to this? Just focus on the people with whom we need to work with immediately?

Welcome to corporate banking. Constant bullshit meetings. Always asks for when something is needed by and prioritize based off that. Enjoy the rest of your internship

God, I should have gone into corporate banking...

Sounds like the classic issue you had in group projects during school, where some people don't pull their weight. Divide the work and set deadlines. Your fellow interns can then work on the stuff whenever they want as long as it's finished on time. Most likely, they will also have to stay a bit past 5pm but no one will have to stay for very long past 5pm. Moreover, everyone is likely to feel the same way about the excessive meetings when they realize the excessive meetings is what is keeping them in the office past 5pm.
