How to Prepare for Public Finance Internship at BB

I'll be interning at a BB in their public finance group this summer in New York and would like to get a return offer. I was wondering what I can do during the spring semester when I have extra time on my hands to get me most prepared for the internship. I know the basics of municipal bonds but would like some other recommendations from this community.

Also side note, how would one go about internally transferring from SA public finance to full time debt capital markets as I was originally more interested in DCM but was only able to get a public finance internship. Obviously my first priority is to get the public finance return offer, but would ideally like to be in DCM

Thanks!

Not exactly what you’re asking for but you would be much better off getting comfortable in PowerPoint then Excel. During my internship, none of the technical stuff I studied beforehand was THAT useful. It can’t hurt looking over public finance concepts but the bar is so low as an intern.

If you can master PowerPoint and Excel you’ll be golden.
