How to Spot a DEI Becky

Given the illegal discrimination which males face in IB through DEI, about time we list the key traits of DEI Beckies,

- Not always but often from an affluent background and prep school

- Mostly white but can be of any color

- Bail on office at 5pm to “WFH” while having no family / kids

- Dislike feedback unless delivered by MDs

- Often label constructive feedback as misogyny

- Require additional staffing on files to pick their slack

- Intentionally are staffed on value worthy files to make guest appearances and often operate as glorified coordinators

- Senior bankers over-state their contributions to deal teams to build their profile for self-serving promotions

- Often are assigned a lighter workload vs male peers yet still complain; push back against weekend work every time

- if remotely attractive then don’t hesitate to manipulate senior bankers with inappropriate attention to gain favours

- Receive special gifts / industry / dinner invites from senior bankers which are unrelated to work performance

- Frequently play victim in front of senior execs and HR to complain about toxic work culture to avoid accountability

- Promote a culture of incompetency and low productivity

- Advocate discrimination against men in hiring / promotions

- Staunch supporters of lobby groups like VersaFi / WCM which preach indirect discrimination against males

As President Trump takes oath on Jan 20th, about time we discuss these issues. Can’t let DEI make or break careers just to appease a select bunch
