IB energy teams outlook

So I have an interview soon where I may be asked about which team I would prefer interning in, and so far from past experience and networking with bankers I found energy interesting. I don't know if this will make me sound dumb though, because all news are about the energy crisis and how energy firms are facing huge difficulties these winter.

Does the current outlook for energy companies mean that there will be way less energy deals so IB energy teams will have less work? or are the types of deals just going to be different, like more focus on acquiring distressed companies or restructuring? in general, how does a poorly performing industry affect the workings of the respective coverage team in IB?
