IB from NYC to London?

First time posting. I’m a veteran who’s currently applying to MBA programs. I have very little experience so I’m a bit ignorant on IB career tracks. I am however certain I want to recruit for IB and I am interested in living abroad. Is it reasonable to do a few year stint in NYC then make a lateral transition to an IB job in London? Any insight into this topic would be greatly appreciated.
