IB RO Discussion

Hey guys, know others are feeling this too right now, but worked super hard this past summer and didn't get a return. Super disappointed and definitely caught off guard, but how do I re-recruit? My group quite literally only gave positive feedback throughout internship & i got no feedback on why I didn't get the offer. What do I say when bankers inevitably ask why i didn't get the RO?

Happened to me years back. Landed smth better. Same exact situation with zero negative feedback. Some teams just suck at providing effective mentorship. That’s life.

Why I won is because I told myself I was born to win. Didn’t allow myself to sulk like a pathetic bum for even an hour. Pick urself up and onto the next. Second I drove home I ripped open that laptop and started spraying coffee chat emails. Prove them wrong.

That's what I needed, thank you. What did you say when they asked why no RO?

This is the way

From the ppl who I have seen not get ROs usually end up returning to better places. If you were able to make it this far, I know you will shine and succeed later on.

thats a generalization. Your sample space includes just people who didn't get RO and ended up at better firms. You gotta look at people who didn't get RO and ended up jobless or at a worse position. Surviorship bias - read Fooled by Randomness by Nassim Nicholas Taleb.
