IBD Summer London - Rothschild or Citi

Opportunity for both Rothschild & Citi 2021 Investment Banking Summer Internships. Enjoyed both springs, and both cultures (Although different) are relatively appealing - Roths being family culture based, Citi being global and diverse. Looking for a long-term career in Banking, and very interested in Consumer & Retail Sector. Which bank would be better for starting a career in banking at?

Leaning towards the Consumer & Retail sector. I know Rothschild have a good team for this, but generally, much smaller deals compared to Citi. I am thinking I want to be a career banker long-term if I have the opportunity to do so, so wanting a firm I can stick with

Both are great firms - check out this thread: https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/20-most-frequently-asked-questio… team strenghts and what they do.

But in summary you want to do a bunch of MM deals - go Rothschild, you want to experience to full BB experience (M&A, ECM, DCM, LevFin) and work with larger corporates go Citi. It should be more of a personal decision as both are great firm and are well respected for what they do.

I swear none of them have started their conversion, maybe first try to convert?

OP has already landed two fast track assessment centres for great  Banks. They have done enough to have the right to ask the question what if I get them both. It has been a rough year we are allowed to dream out loud sometimes.
