Probably wouldn't get caught or ever face consequences for it. I really have no idea but theres gotta be a non zero % chance that gets flagged when you submit your transcript. So its really up to you, as 3.97 and 4.0 is not gonna make a difference anyways.
also ethically like why? if you had a 3.67 and needed a 3.7 for the gpa cutoff i'd understand. ur nerd ass doesn't need another 0.03 like god damn.
Thanks, referral?
you're below my gpa cutoff sorry
I had a 3.51 and rounded to 4(no decimal) on my resume.

Yeah you’re lowk cooked if you leave 3.97 bc that’s a shit gpa. Definitely round up to 4.0 or you won’t even get looks from any of the top banks like Union Square Advisors, Provident Healthcare Partners, or Westcove Partners.
If i found out an applicant rounded up from 3.97 to 4.0 it would be a ding. Likely overly myopic personality and can’t see the “big picture” of what actually matters. It’s also effectively an equal GPA to a 4.00 anyways - no one is going to just take a 4.00 applicant over a 3.97 applicant because of the 0.03 delta in GPA, at this point it’s all about interview performance.
4.0 and 3.97 are not the same. 4.0 means a perfect record of all As. Don’t do that.
I wouldn’t care, and if they ask you to round then rounding to 4.0 is correct. But I think by showing 3.97 you get all the credit of a 4.0 and then some for being transparent. I round up by 0.4 when I have to round to the tenths
Put 420
Serious response: put 3.97. "4.0" is what people with 3.91s put. I'm sure there are no fewer than 20 threads on the topic of rounding up GPAs -- in your case, you can separate yourself from that group. Also, this is pretty neurotic to begin with, but just my two cents as it seems important to you.
Agree as stupid as this discussion is I wouldn’t round up. Nobody is going to care about your GPA but you may have some asshole who decides to ask if you really got a 4.0 and holds it against you if you round up
