Intern - peaked lapel thoughts

So as an intern in the London IB scene, wanted to ask if peaked lapels are suitable.

I ask because I know in London there certain things that are frowned upon for whatever reason e.g. brown shoes

I personally have never noticed what my interns wear. There is literally not enough time in the day and frankly even if there were, I mean...

I think there's a huge amount of overthinking on this topic. That said, why even risk it for minor things like lapels? There's always the 1% chance you have someone who does care, and it bothers them, and that impacts you. I'd be more sympathetic if there were a special reason (e.g. you wear your Grandad's old Rolex, he's no longer around, so this is how you remember him), but I don't expect that's the case with lapels?

When people complain about the brown shoes in London, is it exclusively about light brown, or even very dark brown/burgundy as well? Lol

Yeah I’ve got both black and very dark brown (as in, could even pass as black for someone slightly colourblind) oxfords, so was wondering if the brown ones would be frowned upon ahah.
Thanks

The saying has always been “no brown in town”
