Internal lateral from AM to IBD - how to negotiate promotion to associate?

Hi monkeys,

I am a senior analyst in AM within a BB covering PE investments - I skipped IBD however I decided to move to IBD internally. Passed all of the rounds so far and have 1 final 30 minute motivational with senior MDs. Pretty sure it's mine to lose but I don't want to step down a level - I am currently analyst 3 / associate 1 equivalent (AM titles are different to the IBD division). At the junior level however, there is quite a material pay bump moving from AM to IBD - ideally I'd move at the associate 1 level (and earn associate comp) but this may be a stretch for 2 YOE and no prior IBD experience.

Not sure if there is even any room for negotiation in an internal move situation - any insights?

Also, how does the move actually work - is it next day after signing or do I have a few weeks to round things off with my current team? Do I get issued new laptop / phone given I'd be moving cost centres?

Any advice or insights super welcome!

Thanks in advance monkeys!
