Question to anyone been through this process before - are they generally going to make you whole for bonuses at the year end since you spent half the year in another office? Thank you.

On the contrary, you'll (A) likely be paid pro-rata only for the time you spent in your destination office, and (B) likely a prime candidate to be ranked a middle bucket, unless you're a superstar. It's not my first time in the jungle on this.
Unless you're an absolute superstar relative to your peers, teams want to pay to keep their top talent, and as a joiner from a foreign office, you're unlikely to be seen as a flight risk, and teams generally keep their own budgets.
