Investing in S&P - Is it the right time?

Planning to invest $50k in S&P500 I invested $12.5k today, and plan to invest: -$12.5k at the end of September -$12.5k at the end of October -$12.5k at the end of November

Does that make sense / am I making a big mistake? Any thoughts are very welcome I am planning to hold long term

Agree with above. Assuming you're in your 20s, just put the money in and don't worry about getting the exact lowest price. Even if the market immediately drops 30%, by the time you retire that'll be a rounding error

Have also seen research out of GS that missing the top ~20 market rally days in a cycle is significantly worse than buying in right before a dip - not explaining it as well as they did, but the TLDR was to buy in and forget about it instead of trying to time the market to the absolute bottom
