Investment Banking after a Masters

Hi,

I am set to finish my a Masters in Finance (UK) next year with an internship in the Corporate Banking division at an MM in my pocket. From what I have heard, full time/graduate recruiting for banks are incredibly competitive (esp for IBD). I was wondering what my chances are and if anyone here has had any success from a similar position to myself. Corporate banking at the MM did sit within investment banking division so i guess that something I can point out in interviews for 'Why Investment Banking?'. I did no modelling which I suspect will be the biggest barrier, but have some modelling experience through my degree and other work experiences.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated :)

2022 offcycle and summer recruiting will begin around August - September 2021

If you come from a non target it will be very difficult (but not impossible) to break into BB or EB. Intense networking might help. But you should rather focus your efforts on MM banks and boutiques. One thing you can try is to ask your former team in corporate banking if they can help you to get hired in the IB division of the bank
