Am considering an asset finance opportunity and was wondering whether asset finance is generally considered Investment Banking, Corporate banking, or commercial banking?

Do you mean Asset based lending?
No, I don't think it is asset based lending. It's an asset finance role that involves 3 main products: securitization of receivables, supply chain finance, and receivable purchase programs. Is that considered IB, Corp Banking, or Commercial banking?

The products you mentioned most likely fall under the scope of corporate banking, though it also depends on the size of the client you're dealing with. Some BB's have somewhat of an overlap in their corporate banking and commercial banking practices.
Securitization is an IB product because it's raising capital through debt Instruments (ABS/bonds), but I've seen structured trade finance fall under corporate banking (Citi)
