Is it possible to move from Corp. Fin. to S&T
I've been told by a couple of big banks that I can move from one area to another within the company after I finish my 2 year obligation. Any experience with that?
Or move the other way too?
not from what i've heard. those occupations are so different, the people are so different, the products are so different.
the fact that a lot of the BB say you can move within the firm after a couple of years is more a recruiting tool than a reality.
however, it might be easier to laterally transfer if the skills you pick up in one department would benefit another (e.g. banking -> equity research, sales -> trading, brokerage -> wealth management, etc.)
