Is my bank / group preparing for layoffs?
My manager manages 8 analysts and recently my manager sent out an email to all 8 of us saying that the broader team is preparing for an group wide "analyst review" and asked for all of us to send him a list of people we worked with and he will reach out to these individuals to ask for feedback. We would then essentially be ranked and then my manager would send the list / ratings to senior management by the beginning of October.
Is this a red flag / sign that my group is preparing to reduce headcount?
