Lateral to BBs

All,

have had EB and PE HHs reaching out to me but what I am interested in is a lateral to one of the BBs. Do they even use headhunters?

Is there any timeline or best option is to keep networking with the hope something pops up?

Just did this from MM, was in a couple other lateral processes with EBs too. I think the lateral process is generally opportunistic - all my opportunities came in from friends at the firm that referred me after HR notified the office of open positions. So ig the answer is to network if you don't already have friends at those banks, personally I never received a HH email for top BB or EB (at least not for a tier 1 city opportunity) and don't know how useful they are, but referral guarantees you get a first round
