Lazard NY vs Deutsche Bank London FT Graduate Programs

Hi,

If you had offers from Lazard NY and DB London for their 2014 FT Graduate programs (IBD), which one would you choose and why? Which one is the best in terms of PE exits? Thanks for your thoughts!

There are unsubstantiated rumors, but I've heard Laz is having some trouble internally...

I think that's referring to the capital markets group (ECM) not its advisory practice

Yeah I know the the capital markets group is having trouble, but this is actually Laz

I think it really comes down to where you want to live. LAZ NY is no doubt a top notch M&A shop, but DB London is the equivalent of GS NY; they are exceptionally strong in Europe.

Not sure how US IB -> London PE works, but definitely know some people that went the opposite direction. Could also try and transfer within the bank. Not sure how easy it is to do at LAZ, but it is very easy to do at DB. Know several individuals that have transferred to different offices all over, including London.

You know you've been working too hard when you stop dreaming about bottles of champagne and hordes of naked women, and start dreaming about conditional formatting and circular references.
